This is the official website of the Dr Giraldi Home Inquiry. The Inquiry was established to investigate certain allegations of mismanagement, misconduct, malpractice and abuse relating to the Dr Giraldi Home and the conduct of the relevant authorities and agencies in response to those allegations. The Chairman of the Inquiry has a discretion to inquire into such other matters relating to the Dr Giraldi Home as he considers appropriate.

The Inquiry was set up by Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar under the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1888 and announced by the Chief Minister and Minister for Equality & Social Services on 22 October 2012.

The Rt. Hon. Sir Jonathan Parker is the Chairman of the Inquiry. Sir Jonathan became a Judge of the High Court of England & Wales in 1991 and was subsequently appointed Lord Justice of Appeal in 2000. In 2010 he was appointed to the Court of Appeal of Gibraltar of which he is a current serving member.

The Inquiry will be making announcements from time to time in respect of the progress of its work and the hearings it will hold. In accordance with the Terms of Reference of the Inquiry the Chairman delivered his Report to the Government during late January 2015. The Government decided to publish the Report at 3pm on 6 February 2015, which by agreement with the Inquiry Chairman, can also be viewed on this website.
